certain things in life, like cheeseburgers and cute boys, distract heidi and i. our thinking goes all wibbly wobbly and instead of merging onto the 99N in Arizona we wind up 30 miles from L.A.-long, albiet unfortunately true, story.
more recently however, we have forgotten to do the item of the month for the last two months. therefore we are having two this time.

i will admit defeat and come to grips with the fact that summer is gone and fall will soon transition into winter. i do actually love fall, it is my favorite season for many reasons. for one, you can wear, like, 3 shirts, tights, socks, and legwarmers at the same time, 2 skirts at once, sweaters over sweaters, and top it all off with a coat, scarf, hat, and gloves. in essence you can wear all of your favorite things at one time! i think that is pretty exciting, because as mentioned before we love layering. i also love fall for the comfort food that tends to compliment hazy days and chilly weather. and when i put on the extra layer of fat i just tell myself that nature has planned it this way. it is to keep me warm, naturally. without it i would surely die.

the point is that we have decided that winter coats should be the item of the month here at the shop because we want you all to be warm but lovely at the same time.

ok. well, there is one of the coats. i have several more to share with you but it appears as though my computer has eaten them as they are no longer anywhere to be found. i'll get back to you on those. in the meantime you can just pop on by the store and check them out. its toasty warm in here...
absolutely the most terrifying photograph ever.
anyway-to celebrate our birthday we are doing some fun stuff here at the shop. like throwing a party with food and booze, and that's always fun. and there will be name drawings with coupons and discounts to be given away. all you have to do to get your name in the bucket is spend over $100 on your favorite narcissey items and you're in. the drawings will be made during the last 30 minutes of the afore-mentioned party (5-7 pm friday, september 25).
hmm. what else? oh! 10% off regularly priced items for the entirety of the month. that includes the much anticipated fall 2009 shipment from noa noa, which is patiently waiting at customs (in portland) right now.
and! a very special 'item of the month'. the item is silk. and the special is that when you purchase one silk item you will receive the other (of lesser value) for half off! this means that anything in the store that is silk is fair game. plus, since we posted the item of the month two weeks late last month, if you mention the blog you can still get the deal on that dress for the rest of the month.

we are finally back from several extended holidays, one of which was to denmark to order the noa noa spring 2010 collection. more on that trip soon.
for now i am posting the august item of the month...halfway into the month, but better late than never! posting a blog from a hotel computer is rather difficult when there is a continuous line of folks staring you down while they wait their turn to check their email!
so, back to business.
the august item of the month is this comfy cute cotton sundress (noa noa). we have it in skyblue, cream, and black of course! originally $134 for the rest of the month it will be $107.20.
it's one of those great dresses that can be dressed up with a big bow, lace slip, and heels; or (as pictured above) with a waist belt and boots, or just like it is with sandals.

we've decided to extend our item of the first week of the month to the full blown item of the month. this month we chose this soft as a baby blanket cardigan from noa noa that ties with a sweet bow.
this is also the sweater from the previous post. as i mentioned before it comes in cream, light blue, grey, brown, and black. there is a flavor for everyone!
