i got the most lovely gift for mothers day from 'the big one' (my oldest)...it is the cutest little book on having a soiree. i love soirees!
ha! there are little french egglets with berets and mustachios!
i want to eat this...
here.
there are all kinds of crafty fun ideas to help you feel like you live in a crumbly mansion in the french country side. my daughter apparently knows me very well, as this is something i pretend to do sometimes.
i then found out that there is a website/store (french general) connected to the book and a blog (the warp and the weft) connected to that website. and i have found all kinds of discoveries and treasures, all thanks to my new book and my daughter.
oddly enough there are lots of gypsy type references going on here which is very fitting because i just got into some weird gypsy thing as of late.
one of my favorite things french general offers are these dreamy jewelry kits...
i think it would be fun to order some for the store and then we can have a big jewelry making partyand everyone can come and we can have cheese and honey and bread and wine.

i also received a very cool photo album (from the small one) that reminded her of my collection of brownie cameras. such thoughtful little buggers i have.
the small one and i also planted flowers, so i now i have the perfect place to keep these...
wouldn't you know these little guys were called 'gypsy'. so naturally we had to get them.
here is part of the finished product. we didn't take pictures of the window boxes yet as they are still a little puny.
we also had our heads so buried in flowers that we didn't shoot any of heidi and her small person as they took off on their bike ride!
maybe we will have them recreate it for us someday.
after a fun day celebrating with my little ones we had an easy dinner of baked brie, bread and gorgonzola tomato soup! and wine.
kinda sounds like a soiree.
listened to: more desmond dekker...including this one!
